Love's True EmbraceLove is such a beautiful thing
At least that is what the poets say
They tell me that love is soft

and nothing makes you feel better than its gentle embrace

But they must not know love's true form
They don't see the sharp-toothed monster in the corner over there

Simple enough to roll off the tongue

I've said those words infinite times,
Repetition streaming like raindrops,
Pounding, pounding, pounding
In a torrent.
The more I think them,
The greater the storm.

Some days I step outside to a trickle,
Other days a surly drizzle
That merely inconveniences.
I duck my head,
Pop out my umbrella,
And continue on to class.

Other days a flash flood of tears
And half-rational thoughts
Drown my feet in whirling combinations
Of regret
Anger
Sadness
And a thousand other emotions
Too complex to state by name.

Words turn to mud,
Mud to mires.
Then the only clear words within

Look to the Sun The sun is our protecter,
shields us from the dark
Though far away, it stands to say,
the Sun will always help

It says it's always there,
though sometimes hidden
Tells us stories of a promised land,
but we can't go with it

Says if we reach out our hands,

never had any doubt
And when it's dark, we're alone

Written words of hate, revenge
So awful to so many

But these words are hidden deep inside of us all
They knaw at our soul, cause we can't handle them all
True to the tale this is what we want
Opening hearts, and then letting them rot

Truely disgusted and just filled with hate
This is the only feeling that we cannot take
It will boil inside us, unti we just break

Victims turned to culprits
Predators turned to prey

Wash Me Away Is this rain, that beats down on me?
Is it that I see, that really hurts me?
Hiding my tears, but they don't go away
I can still feel the pain inside of me

Here I stand, asking for one thing

The looking glass extends throughout
All splatters of pure clear
A reality that hasn't begun
All innocently of mind

The stares of the unknown
Are stepping stones across
The bridge of perspective
The perspective from within

Redden streaks merge with white
Staining all lies inside
Bringing them all out into the surface
Over the edge of the terrence

Crossing over that gap
With the sharpened demons below
Waiting to devour
Waiting only to steal

The planks upon which they walk
Creak and fall with every step
With steps further they take along
A new perspective of reality
